Understanding and Supporting Learning provides customised good value teacher training insets for schools and colleges across England. The teacher training insets are designed to raise awareness of barriers to learning and offers accessible Smart Strategies to provide high quality inclusive teaching.
We specialise in SEND:Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dyspraxia, Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Processing difficulties, Metacognition and Working Memory deficits.

We work closely with the National Education Union [NEU], the largest education union in Europe. See 2019 teacher training inset dates on 'USL offers'. We also work as trainers for the British Dyslexia Association [BDA] delivering open training sessions and school insets.

Many learners with SEN have working memory deficits preventing them from making academic progress. This session identifies these barriers and demonstrates approaches to teach them inclusively with strategies to meet specific areas of working memory deficit. See USL Offers for more details

•Why the Five Minute Box resources work to facilitate learning
•Practical hands-on experience using the resource and teaching strategies with confidence.
